Come down to the Queen's Dock and immerse yourself in Glasgow history and watch our craftsmen distil pure new make spirit by hand, the time-honoured way.     What the tour includes:
    Our Dockside Story is the first, self-guided part of the tour. Wander around and discover fascinating tales about the birth of the whisky industry and Glasgow's history, featuring live footage and animation bringing history to life.

    Next, our expert guide who will show you around Clydeside Distillery itself. Meet our lively craftsmen as they handcraft pure new make spirit using traditional methods and time-honoured skills. Enjoy the spectacular view over the Clyde from our gleaming contemporary Still House.

    Historic Tours of Glasgow University - 17th August 2018 18th August 2018 19th August 2018

    Founded in 1451, the University of Glasgow is the fourth oldest university in the English-speaking world. Originally located on High Street in the city centre near Glasgow Cathedral, in 1870 it moved to the stunning collection of buildings perched upon Gilmorehill today, where it continues to watch over the bustling city and picturesque tenements of Glasgow’s West End.

    The University of Glasgow tours, run by Glasgow University Students' Representative Council, will take you on a fascinating journey around some of the university’s most significant spots - from philosopher Thomas Reid’s tombstone and the atmospheric cloisters, to the very same staircase Lord Kelvin would take from his house to his laboratory - whilst discovering the connections of James Watt, Adam Smith and Isabella Elder whose names are inscribed on the university’s Memorial Gates.

    Inner City - 16th Feb 2018 to 11th Nov 2018

    Inner City explores questions about the modern city, hidden communities and cultural identity. The exhibition takes its name from its centrepiece, a multimedia installation by Michael C McMillen – an amazingly detailed and atmospheric fictional depiction of a Los Angeles slum, which is on display for the first time in more than 15 years. Works by Alberta Whittle and Mitch Miller bring a local context to the dialogue. The exhibition is accompanied by a programme of related artist films.

    Born in Los Angeles, Michael C McMillen is a visual artist in the very widest sense. Often overlapping, his work involves sculpture, installation, printmaking and cultural anthropology. While building his reputation as an artist, McMillen created props and special effects for the film industry, with his work featuring in movies including ‘Blade Runner’ and ‘Close Encounters of the Third Kind’.

    Reflecting the artist’s concerns about the lack of investment in infrastructure and social care in the United States in the 1970s, Inner City is a hyperreal model of an imagined rundown area of Los Angeles. The installation, first shown at the Whitney Museum of American Art in 1978, allows viewers to become immersed in the nightscape of a derelict neighbourhood, altering their sense of personal scale as they look at the miniature dystopian world.
