INTERNATIONAL BEATLEWEEK - 22 - 28 August 2018

There is so much to do and see that you don’t need to be a Beatle fan to enjoy the festival, though it probably helps! This is truly an international event with 70 bands from over 20 countries and fans from over 40.

Live music is the focus of International Beatleweek. Not only is there live music on the Cavern’s 3 stages all day, every day (with a different band on every hour), but the festival also goes out into the city to various venues so you can get a real feel of Liverpool. International Beatleweek takes place in venues across the city all week long. Festival highlights include theatre shows, outdoor venues, late night parties and of course our Annual Beatles Convention at the Adelphi Hotel. The convention on Sunday is the place to be and features guest speakers, a massive Beatles marketplace, videos, quizzes and of course more live music!

ROYAL DE LUXE GIANT SPECTACULAR - 4 - 7 October 2018

Autumn sees the return to the Mersey of those daring and ingenious magicians from the world’s leading street theatre company, Royal de Luxe, with a new story to awe and enchant the hundreds of thousands of people who are guaranteed to flock to see the Giants walking our streets once more.
In 2012, it was the centenary of the Titanic which inspired the flamboyant Gallic genius Jean-Luc Courcoult and his team from Nantes in France to create Sea Odyssey - a story of love, loss, letters, and one doomed ocean liner.

Two years later in 2014, the centenary of the outbreak of the First World War was remembered in a poignant pageant that included a parade of Pals waving farewell to their loved ones and heading off to war alongside marching bands, Little Girl Giant, her grandmother, and the crowd-pleasing Xolo the dog.

BRITISH MUSICAL FIREWORKS CHAMPIONSHIP - 28 - 30 September 2018

They are judged by industry experts on their synchronisation to music, mood and flow, variety and effects, choice of music, overall design and choreography.

Innovative use of fireworks and music makes each display unique, with the different companies working for months to design the show; they pour their heart and soul into their work.

This is your chance to witness some of the best displays in the UK - fireworks will never look the same again!

LIVERPOOL PRIDE - 1 July - 31 July 2019

Liverpool's LBGTQ+ venues get involved, stay open longer and wider city venues serve rainbow wine to celebrate.

2018 saw the biggest and best event yet, with 10,000 people marching through the city.

LIGHTNIGHT LIVERPOOL - 1 May - 31 May 2019

LightNight showcases the creative lifeblood of Liverpool, presenting new and ambitious artistic commissions amidst a vibrant programme of more than 100 events including everything from concerts, exhibitions, hands-on workshops and dance to street performance, theatre and talks. It’s the perfect chance to enjoy the bustling atmosphere and experience the city’s cultural offer after-hours with friends and family.

This LightNight we will question and reflect upon the transformative nature of the self and the world around us. Understood as a significant change in people or place, ‘transformation’ is happening all around us: visible or invisible, turbulent and political, personal and emotional, for better or for worse.

THE RANDOX HEALTH GRAND NATIONAL FESTIVAL - 4 April 2019

From the legendary triple-winning success of Red Rum, to our present day successors, Many Clouds and most recent champion One For Arthur, there's always a story to be told.

Once again the world will stop in its tracks, as 600 million people watch live on television. 40 horses and jockeys will line up to race across the famous fences.

FOLK ON THE DOCK - 24 - 27 August 2018

This year’s event will see over 200 artists play across ten stages around the Dock, as well as the completely unique Liverpool Shanty Festival – where live performances take place on boats around the water’s edge and in the Merseyside Maritime Museum.
